2018 – exhibition design for Neolithic Childhood. Art in a false present, c. 1930 at Haus der Kulturen der Welt
Cooperation with Nils Reinke-Dieker and Larissa Starke as NLF Team
The exhibition architecture was developed by Kooperative für Darstellungspolitik (Jesko Fezer, Anita Kaspar, Andreas Müller mit Maximilian Weydringer). Their concept is based on a metaphorical image of an excavation pit, referring to early ethnological findings around 1930.
Our design refers to this image and it refers to Carl Einstein's comparatistic art science, on wich the exhibition is based on. Our concept was, to remove all texts from the exhibition and put it into a manual, that contains all those informations. Every artwork and every document got an index number, containing of section (A–C), chapter (1–37) and item number (1–587). By those numbers, the visitors can look up all the content in their manuals, that are handed out with the exhibition's ticket.
The catalogue is published at Diaphanes. Texts by Tom Holert, Kerstin Stakemeier, Irene Albers, Jenny Nachtigall andy many more.
The exhibition was on from 12th of April to 9th of July 2018.
Curated by Anselm Franke and Tom Holert. Advisory board: Irene Albers, Susanne Leeb, Jenny Nachtigall, Kerstin Stakemeier
